Kanye West stopped by the Ellen DeGeneres Show (airing today) to talk about the change he is trying to make within the world.
The topic of discussion came about when Ellen asked if he ever regretted any of his many rants on Twitter. His wife said he should have a “board of directors” before posting them, but he simply responded, “Absolutely not!” He then jokingly said, “What’s the point of thinking?”
He then went on to discuss why he hit up Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg for $53 million to help more people. He said, “I have ideas that can make the human race existence within our 100 years better… period.”
Using his parents as examples, he talked about his father living in homeless shelters less than five years ago only to find out he was a psych major and his late mother being the first black female chair of the English Department at Chicago State University. All in which shows that he was raised to make a difference.
Continuing with his point he said, “We’re one race, the human race. One civilization. We’re a blip in the existence of the universe, and we constantly try to pull each other down, not doing things to help each other.”
He mentioned that he called the heads of Payless to tell them that he wanted to take everything that he learned from all of the fashion shows he’s attended and work with them to stop bullying.
Then he credited Russell Simmons and Michael Jackson for being the reasons why he was able to go so far in music. He said, “There was a time when Michael Jackson couldn’t get his video on MTV because he was considered to be urban. I literally have to be the Michael Jackson of apparel in order to break open the doors of everyone that will come after I’m gone.”
